      @Amethz:

quick question, can I watch cached videos using wifi on pfsense without buffering it or this is applicable only on wired?

      Strange question.
"Videos"that only work when the connection si wired ?
So when there is Wifi (radio) or Optical (fibre) in the path, there are problems ?
      Never heard about that one.

Better stick to 'normal' devices and setup  ;D

Edit : and where are the logs ??

I'm the one who will generate the voucher codes not the pfsense

Not that I know of.  There's crypto involved that has to match up.  Why not let pfSense do it?  You can generate hundreds if not thousands at a time.  Take them, put them in a database, print cards, whatever, and hand them out by whatever means works for you.

Our adviser suggested that, so I asked if it's possible… thanks anyway :)

I'm planning to install the squid 3, is there any conflict between that and captive portal?.. what other package/s I should install to make my pfsense more useful? TIA

                      "Squid 3": don't know.
"squid" was (is ?) breaking the portal - see the many (even more) subjects on this forum.

another question, I set the dhcp range on lan to 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.10
why is that some IPs connected to my lan is 192.168.1.100 and up?

Another DHCP server (on LAN) ?
Static IP setting used by clients ?

You saw the pfSense DHCP server logs ?

could I specify what's the error on voucher code?..

1st: this voucher is being used by other device
2nd: invalid voucher code (when they enter a wrong code)
3rd: expired voucher (when there's no remaining time left)

1st: this voucher is being used by other device

See GUI -> Captive portal -> Vouchers
" If the voucher is used again from another computer, the previous session is stopped. "
If some one passes his voucher code to some one else, he will loose the usage of it.
So, don't worry, no one will 'loose' his voucher code.

                                        read what the image proposes.
Note that 'user name' is the voucher code.

thanks! I thought it's because of power interruption why my voucher restriction is not working anymore

Devices like firewalls (pfSEnse, PC's, whatever) always run on UPS on 'my places'.
