Vouchers spanning multiple days - Thanks
-
I am implementing a 2.1-RC1 CP instance for meeting room access and am pleased to find the following:
If I enable vouchers AND pass-through MAC addition w/ usernames, it appears I can grant access spanning multiple days, without users having to re-enter codes daily, without worrying about DHCP leases since the access is dependent only on the MAC, not the MAC/IP pairing, AND the MAC address passthrough entry is automatically cleared when the voucher code expires.
That last part was a pleasant surprise. Given the language in the passthrough MAC GUI areas.
Awesome. Thanks guys.

Is this feature somewhere documented? I can't find it in the wiki or anywhere else…

And I've been having some problems with it lately.

Apparently this person has also problems with it, and I would also like to know how to use this function correctly…

yeah, that's me. :)
For the record, when I wrote the above I was using one Voucher per MAC address, which seemed to work just fine since the problem I'm having in the other post (duplicates being deleted despite "disable concurrent logins" being unchecked) was the expected behavior.
It is my understanding that without the "MAC automatic addition with username" set, the voucher code is not stored in the MAC passthrough database as the username and there is nothing for the auto-pruning mechanism to match on when the voucher expires so they have to be manually deleted.

Sorry, I didn't look at the username ::)
I noticed the same behaviour, then I was searching for a documentation but couldn't find a single hint to this feature (I even checked the redmine submits)… -
Nobody here who can give us an answer? -.-

Answer on what? If you have problems, don't post them in a "thank you" thread… ::)

Answer on "is this feature documented somewhere" ;)…
