      @grandrivers:

      has Apinger been replaced already or is it still in todo status ??

      Not yet. Though the issues you've seen are more timing problems with Hyper-V than anything to do with apinger itself.

      @grandrivers:

      how about dedup on mail alerts??

      Already exists in general (for identical alerts) but guessing you're talking about https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/4031

            Is it being thought of for 2.3 and just not worked on - what about 2.4?  It really is pretty broken..

            While I would just love to have such short rtt to my isp gateway.. It is just not realistic in any sense of the word.. It has never ever ever been this good..  But apinger seems to think for whatever strange reason I am closer to my gateway then every other ping test shows ever..

            While in my case its really nothing more than a cosmetic issue.. Would be nice if it was atleast being thought of for replacement sometime in the new couple of releases.  It will run normal for quite some time, and then for whatever reason get supper great numbers ;)  A restart of apinger will bring it back to reality for a period of time.

              IIRC the replacement is mostly, if not all, coded but needs review and testing before integration, but all eyes are elsewhere at the moment (focused on the GUI and pkgng bits or OS-level tasks)

                well dual wan is what brought me to pfsense and for awhile apnginer was half usable for me but since its last recompile emeral did 2.2 ish its has broke the dual wan functionality of pfsense.
                I think the worse your internet connections are the more important Apinger replacement is, maybe I truley am in the minority with apinger not working more than working
                maybe its only residential connections that fight with apinger but somehow i have feeling thats not the case

                I can help test as soon as ready bare metal install so no vm issuses

                  Thats great news jimp, I was just recently reading a blog post about the new webgui - yeah that is prob keeping everyone busy..  But sounds like the apinger issues will be addressed sooner vs later which is good news.. Thanks!

                    @johnpoz: The graphs/widgets you've posted are on the good side, just mostly harmless BS info. I keep getting BS like 109% packet loss, and the damned superbroken thing totally confused and eating all CPU until killed and respawned.

                      Glad to know apinger has had some work done on it, I've been hoping to use the dual-wan and failover functionality for years with pfsense but have been unable to due to it's brokenness. Hopefully we're months instead of years away now.

                          Switching to dpinger will be the last thing before we go to beta, it'll hopefully be committed this week.

                            Well, either last, or second to last.
