How do I create a WebGUI certificate (webConfigurator)
-
I have a pfsense system that had been upgraded over time. When I try to change from HTTP to HTTPS as the WebGUI protocol it doesn't work. The web server is still using HTTP, and I can no longer login.
It seems that this is because I do not have a HTTPS certificate.
How do I generate one in the same way as is done during intial setup of a fresh install (without affecting my current configuration)?

I'm sure there are lots of ways to do this, but whenever I backup my settings, wipe a box, re-install pfsense, restore my settings, I seem to always end up with a fresh webgui cert.
So, I would think that if you revert to http, backup your settings, wipe, install, restore settings, your problem would be solved.

Why not just use the cert manager to either create a cert/key or import one from some other CA you run or use.
Then when you set your webgui to use https you can pick what cert you want to use from the dropdown list.
