Ntopng is in version 2.0 released!
Who is the ntopng maintainer for the pfsense package repository? -
It needs to make it into the FreeBSD ports tree first. That doesn't appear to have happened yet:

thanks for the info :D

I see a few days ago the port was marked 'deprecated' since it has been failing to build for >6 months, and is now set to EXPIRE on 2/29/16 …
http://www.freshports.org/net/ntopng/not sure what happens exactly when it 'expires' but doesn't sound good.
but, in the ntopng github repo I see some recent activity that does look encouraging...

Kind of a shame that the port has been deprecated due to it being broken for so long. I wonder if anyone has released a custom port that we could use to update the old version, or maybe someone here has figured out a way to upgrade ntopng v.1.2.1 (r8205) that is available on pfsense packages?

Not only that, but a maintainer wants to complete it, but needs some help.
I'm not at all used to compiling/bsd, so i can't really do anything helpful.
