Just curious. Why do you decided to move from lighttpd to nginx ? By the way, the webGUI looks clean and clear. Just upgraded from 2.2.6-RELEASE in a lab environment. Working well so far. Great job.

Thanks! We moved away from lighttpd primarily because of the problems it kept inducing, their release quality hasn't been great lately. Search for lighttpd crash on here and you'll see. nginx also offers some functionality we may take advantage of in the future, like reverse proxying.

Much rejoicing. Looks really great! I just happened by today wondering about the 2.3 roadmap and BAM! Serendipity. It'll take a while to get used to the pretty new interface.
-
A bold decision to use pkg packaged base system when FreeBSD itself hasn't yet started using it on release versions.

Thank you ! To take advantages from reverse proxy I use the SQUID3 pkg. So as you say, now it can be done using nginx too ? I'm right ? Just thinking about the new possibilities. Best Regards.

You are too fast.
Perhaps you're right. Anyway, I'll play with the configuration files to see what can be done, just for fun.

Wow, that came as a surprise, nice!
Though, i really can't update with that many packages removed, I'll stay on the safe side until more gets fixed (i hope).

I just installed```
2.3-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Mon Apr 11 18:10:34 CDT 2016
FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASEThe system is on the latest version.
And I got this message after the install``` Notices General Ā Ā Package nut does not exist in current pfSense version and it has been removed. @ 2016-04-15 08:27:19
What is now used to control a battery backup? I don't see anything in the list of install packages not even apcupsd.

Wonderful! I didn't see that. Thanks

Is this really an update?? What a mess! nothing is working anymore. Now I have to do a full reinstall to go back.

Unreal.Comments like this are completely unhelpful trolling. Please post details of what went wrong in the Installation and Upgrades section. Without that, there is no chance for the devs and the volunteers here to fix the problem.

I DON'T LIKE IT!!!
- I loved 2.2 interface. This interface takes more space on the screen. If i must use my laptop I cannot see all menus in one screen, I have to use the mouse like hell to scroll all the time. Dash board doesn't fit. Click Diagnostics and last 6 menus are not visible.
- I used Postfix Forwarder to get some backup job's results, now I have to find another solution
- Bandwidthd missing. How can I see now what computer is using the bandwidth? Squid Proxy Reports shows only small part of the traffic. 2 days ago I just identified an user with lot of UDP traffic.
- PPTP, not safe but sometimes we need it.
I love pfSense, is a great product that solved many problems for me. I upgraded without fear every version, everything was so stable. Now is first time when I'm thinking to revert to previous version.

I updated it because had no problems for the last 2 years with any other updates so I didn't expected that big change.
Anyway, I just restored now the previous version after I couldn't open Lightsquid Report.
Regards. I am worried about future necessary upgrades. -
Had to disable gateway monitoring on my Alix Board due to high CPU and I think it caused my box to crash last night.Ā I had it disabled before upgrading but I figured I would give it a try again; nope, I will just leave that off.Ā From looking at the upgrade notes it looks like I will have to invest in new hardware if support for NanoBSD is being dropped when 2.4 comes out.
I like the new interface over all and the additional of DHCPv6/RA options for people that are using delegated prefixes from their ISP is very welcome.

Hi,
guys what the hell did you do with 2.3 release ā¦. I'm using pfsense from the 1.x releases and never had problems with it . And I used advanced configurations and it was stable.
The BUI is total crap by default , I had to edit the css's to see everything normal way not scroll around like crazy all the time in the firewall rules.
Every day something is crashing from the interface tot the system all together. The sistem that I talking about had on 2.2.x months of up-time , now i'm happy if its working 2-3 days without a crash. The hardware is ok , checked and re-checked it.
Really every day I send you a crash report , and yes I will go back to 2.2.6 because 2.3 its a pain in the ass ...
