There are notices waiting for you to view. Click in the yellow area to the right of the bell icon to read the notices.

Hovering over the pfSense logo on 2.3 will display the hostname, at least it will after the next snapshot.

Hi guys, i hover over it and it doesn't happen anything, no messages, and it isn't possible to click on it, it isn't a link..

I'm sorry but i'm using 2.1 version instead of 2.3

Where can I see the notifications?

        Thanks, best regards

Click in the yellow area TO THE RIGHT of the icon, NOT the icon itself.

There's supposed to be clickable text there.  If there's no text showing, there may not be anything clickable.

              Hi,

unfortunatelly it isn't a link and has no messages.. it is just a space..

isn't there any specific part that is about notifications on pfsense?

              thanks, best regards

It sounds like for some reason your system thinks there is a notice, but that notice doesn't exist. Try going to the Diagnostics->Command prompt page and entering this command into the "Execute shell command" box:

                rm /tmp/notices

                then click "Execute".

Once you navigate to a new page, the notice icon should go away.

                  thank you my friend!

                  that worked out :D

I'll set this topic as resolved!

                  best regards

edit: just out of curiosity, is this /tmp/notice a folder or file? taking in consideration that is based on freebsd and I don't have much knowledge with this system, I don't know if it shows the file extension when we use the ls command.. I ran the command ls -la /tmp/notices and it returns to me this info:
                  $ ls -la /tmp/notices
                  -rw-r–r--  1 root  wheel  237 May  3 10:57 /tmp/notices

seems like it's a folder inside the same folder.. maybe i'm terrible wrong :/

                  thanks again

It's a plain text file with the contents of the notice(s). 'cat /tmp/notices' to see them.

I unlocked the thread and changed the title to "[solved]" in case someone hits that problem in the future and needs to add anything.

                        glad it got fixed!
