Google Chrome bypassing Pfsense captive portal.
-
I am seeing that google chrome users are able to bypass the captive portal of pfsense. Anyone have that issue?
I chose option no authentication. just continue.
Also is it possible to kick users from the session?

Well, this :@CallFromUSA:

might be explained by this :

First : I never used a captive portal without identification.
No login means : pfSense doesn't collect (visitor) session info ….. so ...... that will be a no go ;)
In this thread https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=112053.0 you said you used a captive portal where everybody uses the SAME login ID.
A session will be created for that user ID "my_cp_user" - if you allow multiple logins with the same "my_cp_user" you wind up with many "my_cp_user" in your Status => Captive portal list.If you want to kick a precise user, you only would have it's IP or MAC address to recognize him.

Yes can you tell me where is it that I can find this MAC address or IP? even when they connect I don't see them on the captive portal tabs.
Is there a place where connected users are shown?

….
Is there a place where connected users are shown? For the last 8 years, it was here : (see image).
You need to have "Authentication method" set to "Local User Manager / Vouchers"
You need to declare a user "my_cp_user" with password (System => User manager) and
Make this user member of the group "captive portal visitors". This group should be assigned to this "right" : "User - Services: Captive Portal login Indicates whether the user is able to login on the captive portal."
