High CPU Usage after Upgrade
-
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone can offer me some help.
This started after upgrading to 2.3 (and continues after upgrading to 2.3.1).
I have two OpenVPN client connections always connected from my pfSense box to my VPN provider.
I've never had any issues, but after upgrading these two connections seem to push my CPU usage to 100% and subsequently, the heat increases. If I go to the Services page and restart both client connection services, the usage will drop for a while, but then go back to 100% shortly thereafter.
I know it's the VPN clients that are doing this because on the System Activity page, the two processes representing these client connections are at the top of the list and showing 100% usage for each core (I'm running pfSense on an Atom mini-itx board).
Here's a screen shot of my CPU usage for the last 3 months, I upgraded to 2.3 around 2016-04-18 (right where the orange line shoots up).
Has anyone seen this? Is there a solution?
Thanks.

haven't seen this anywhere.
what does```
top -SH -
Right now it doesn't show the issue because I restarted the OpenVPN services two hours ago.
They haven't ramped up their CPU usages yet, but they will.. not sure when, but they will. Here's the current output to top -sh

I just checked this morning at the cpu usage and as written about above, the two OpenVPN instances are using loads of cpu time.
See screesnhot.Any ideas on this?
