Problem: Remote VPN client connections are unstable. We sometimes lose the web session to pfsense. Sometimes we lose the RDP session due to some sort of encryption problem.

Description: We just installed pfsense 2.1. Configured the certificates and other for openvpn remote connectivity for remote management. Our setup is pretty simple. WAN side is directly connected to pfsense with a static IP and the local area network is 192.168.10.XX. We just ran the initial setup wizard and followed the cookbook to configure the open VPN. We have not started any advanced config yet. We don't know what might be wrong.

Especially, Mozilla is giving SSL errors like:

      • SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
        (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
      • SSL received a record with an incorrect Message Authentication Code.
        (Error code: ssl_error_bad_mac_read)

      Does anybody have any ideas?

      Thanks in advance.

      Arda
