Captive Portal
-
Hi All,
I'm having weird problem with my WiFi, all Wifi users when connected to PfSense Portal is only getting less than 10kbps upload bandwidth. But if I try connecting to my own WiFi Router, my bandwidth is getting more than 3mbps for the upload.By the way, I'm using a DSL with 6mbps for my WIFI.
Regards,

Many many reasons might explain this.
I'll name just one : the AP connected to pfSEnse is using the same radio channel as another (AP) device. This will influence connectivity …..Up to you to describe your setup ...
Btw : I presume you didn't put 1 for Default download (Kbit/s) and 1 for Default upload (Kbit/s) (both on the Captive Portal page).

Well I have 2 AP but they use different channels. And it seems even if I use LAN cable (Not Wifi) for as long as I'm using PFsense Captive Portal to login, same upload speed I'm getting.
Here is my PFSense Setup for the WIFI:
PFsense DSL_LAN Interface is connected to my WiFi Router LAN Interface. DHCP Server is my PFsense box and use local authentication for Captive Portal. Per-user bandwidth restriction is set to 0,0 both download/upload. -
Hi Mrito,
did you try to check the setting on your wifi AP?
Many comes with their own option to limits other connections, which brand/model is it? -
An example from Google…
