      @heper:

@cmb its sad to see you go, but I wish you all the best

      Thanks!

I'll have a longer message later, it's hard to even formulate into words.

But the short of it is - don't worry. I'm happy it's gotten to a point that it doesn't need me anymore. I'm confident I'm leaving you in good hands, and that things will continue to move forward. This isn't a couple person operation anymore, I'm one of ~30 people employed here.

I'll be around the rest of the month, working on making the transition as smooth as possible.

Wish the best for you @cmb

Thank you for everything, your work and contributions have touched countless numbers of admins and even more end users, effecting the entire web in a positive manner. And will certainly do so for a long time to come.
        Cheers!

Just starting out with pfSense and it makes a mature impression to me, same for the posts I read from you  :)

Great work done, thank you, wish the best come to your way.

I gloomily came to the ironic conclusion that if you take a highly intelligent person and give them the best possible, elite education, then you will most likely wind up with an academic who is completely impervious to reality.

              All the best, Chris!
My first guess was Cisco, but then again most of their stuff is Linux based. :)

I am going to be switching sides to Linux, but not at Cisco. :)

So will you still be hanging out on the forum as just a member and not a admin, maybe under a new nick even if want to create separation..  I don't get why moving to a new job means no more posts from cmb?

While your post rate might drop significantly, moving to a new job doesn't mean it has to go to zero does it?

While I am happy for anyone finding new challenges..  The forums will clearly be different without you here, I would hope you will be sticking around the forums just for fun.. Another forum I frequent calls previous staff veterans and its reflected in their forum title..

You have to be careful about conflicts of interest in such matters. Between that, and the time demands of learning a bunch of different things, it'll be near zero.

Very true on the conflicts of interests.. Your not moving to some sort of competitor are you? ;)

Well hope once you get up to speed on your new gig, and have some free time hope to see you pop in now and then.. Even to just say hi.. Be a shame if you just fell off the face of the earth like Dok.. Oh I miss his sense of humor… Many of the threads were much funner to read when he was injecting his wit..

Either way hope once you make the transition to the new gig we can get some details on where you went and what you'll be doing..  If not best of luck to you in your future endeavors, sure you will shine there as you have here..

That depends on how one defines "competitor".

Thank you for all your help and contributions. I'm not an active member, but I've haunted these forums searching for answers for years. Many of my solutions have been found in your comments on various posts.

Been using pfSense for myself since 1.2, and for clients since 1.3. I have to say, it's made me a better network engineer and administrator, as well as FreeBSD admin.

Good luck, godspeed, and thanks for all the fish.  :D
