Anahi is installed correctly, starts correctly and is publishing correctly, but my iPhones are not seeing AirPrint printers or AppleTVs.

So, my question is, does Avahi work with iOS?  In other words, shouldn't my iPhones be able to use AirPrint and see AppleTVs if, for example, I'm connected via OpenVPN?

You have to assign an interface to OpenVPN be sure that interface is active on Avahi.

My VPN works, so I'm thinking I have "assigned the interface to OpenVPN" but would not mind being corrected.

As for a Avahi, as far as I can tell, it's active on ALL interfaces.

          Maybe I'm missing something.

No. OpenVPN works without assigning an interface. Interfaces > (assign) Create a new interface assigned to the OpenVPN server, edit the interface, enable it, Don't set any other options like IP address, Restart OpenVPN.

After checking, I actually did have an interface assigned to OpenVPN. It is enabled and has no IP. It is enabled in Avahi.

What else could be the source of my issue?

I'm sorry are you trying to use remote access? That won't work due to limitations on the client side. Sorry if I wasted any of your time. It generally works for site-to-site with avahi running on both.

What if he used a TAP instead of TUN vpn?

Did you really check your cables?

What's involved in switching my TUN OpenVPN to TAP?

Usually just a setting in openvpn's server config.  I stopped using it for another reason (reload then it wouldn't work again lol).
