Progress netmap-fwd

It's been a couple since months I've read something about this.

How is this progressing? Is there going to be an experimental build for this in the near future?

• this is the pfsense forum, netmap-fwd is not (yet?) part of pfsense

• I don't really read this forum much, you're lucky that this caught my eye.

• there is IPv6 support done, but not released yet

• we're currently putting a stateful packet filter in it, then maybe fixing the threading, so it can run on > 1 core

1. i know, but it has been mentioned before in the blogs, so i've always figured it to eventually end up in pfSense. Is that a wrong assumption?

I think you may have seen this on a tweet somewhere about vale and netmap in conjunction with the microFW for a theoretical pps improvement.

once the network driver in _u_fw has netmap support, sure.
