Is/will there be an alternative.

It seems hosted-by.i3d.net are blocking icmp for my vpn provider, so i can't do gateway monitoring at the moment.

is it possible to do it with udp ?

Indeed, when you say "blocking icmp", do you mean just to their own gateway/routers, or are they blocking all ICMP to anywhere?
