I am failing to get it to work.  Though I have an Android that works great.  I could only find one guide on 2.3 with TAP mode

      https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/3hql33/configuring_openvpn_bridge_with_local_dhcp/

That guide got my Android working with the $8 client that supports TAP mode.  You can watching pull DHCP, etc…  I can hit local stuff and see my internet traffic from the correct public IP.

For the Mac I am using tunnelblick.  I had to add 'push "route-gateway 10.50.0.250"' to the server in order to make it somewhat happy.  I don't see it do the same dhcp pulling that the android does.  After that I see a spam of "write to TUN/TAP : Input/output error (code=5)" .  The client never joins.  I followed tunnelblick's directions and "Set nameserver (alternate 1)" but it doesn't help.

So my question is, does anyone have a Mac working in TAP mode on 2.3?  I am able to get tunnel mode to work with no issue, tap mode doesn't like me.

I am also getting "OpenVPN ROUTE6: OpenVPN needs a gateway parameter for a --route-ipv6 option and no default was specified by either --route-ipv6-gateway or --ifconfig-ipv6 options" , on both devices I can't find what I am supposed to push,  This really should be learned from RA but the RAs timeout.  At some point I need to figure it out as I'd like to use IPv6
