Problem with gaming question
-
Hello,
Just wanted to verify the instructions for the problem with gaming sticky to set a static port. It is worded slightly different.
Should I be copying this rule?
-
Not sure what sticky you are referring to, but the outbound NAT mapping that you are pointing to in your picture will randomize the external port, not set it to static.
What are you trying to set up?

Thanks very much. I'm setting up the static port rule listed here. https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Static_Port Trying to diagnose an NAT issue reported by the game For Honor.
It is asking me to copy Auto created rule for LAN, but the description is slightly different. Just wanted to make sure that the right rule to copy.
Here is the final rule that I created. Is this the proper way to create the rule? -
Yes that will create static ports in the firewall for the device at 192.168.1.30 depending on where it is in the outbound mappings list.
However, this alone won't get you nat type open in for honor. It is one step in getting there.
Pc or xbox or ps4? 1 or many?
Are you using upnp?
Have you setup the firewall rules for this?
-
PC. One client
UPnP is enabled
Firewall rules were set up according to specified.
I tried disabling firewall and anti malware on PC.The strange thing is that another UBI game (rainbow 6) has a fully open NAT.

I think that is correct. I'm having EXACT same issue with Insurgency – another steam source game server..
The only thing I did different is I put in my network address, instead the actual device's IP. So, I put in 192.168.1.0 as opposed to 192.168.1.60. I did this because in the field it says "NETWORK".... not Host IP or similar.... so to me Network is the network address from the relative LAN that I'm using.
All other settings I did do though -- following the sticky (yes i know exactly which sticky you are referring to).
I'm going to test it tonight and I'll write back with my results.

Also, the guy here: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=6982.0
He also references using the actual network address / subnet instead of an actual Server/Host IP.
I'll try it both ways and report back. Hope this helps someone sometime.

By this, do you mean that the Firewall rules for the LAN Interface that the PC is connected to were setup per Ubisoft AND the Firewall/NAT/Port Forwards were also setup to forward the unsolicited inbound to the PC and added the corresponding firewall rules?
Do you see any blocked packets in your firewall logs on your WAN interface when you start up the game?
Also, what uPnP port is your PC getting?
