      Hi,

I've configured the pfsense client with PrivateInternetAccess (PIA) it working fine.
so all of my phones, pcs etc in the internal network is going through PIA

but when I enable the OpenVPN server (so I can connect from my phone when outside to the local network), not all functionality is working. My android phone cannot download apps, the kodi installed in my pc cannot stream via addons etc. But once I delete the OpenVPN server entry, everything is back to normal.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

      Thanks

After creating the VPN server did you go to the new OpenVPN interface and add your allow rule? What does the allow rule on your wan interface for the OpenVPN port look like?

          Hi,

Thanks for replying… as of now is allow any rule... so Protocol : any Source :any Port : any : Destination : any

don't get me wrong... I can still do browse internet, youtube, spotify etc.
The only think I noticed is the google play when downloading apps.... its not going through.... just showing as downloading...
as for the addon, when I select a stream it will say No stream available. but when I delete the OpenVPN server and open the same stream, it will show the video.

its really weird unless I hit a bug or something.

          Thanks

For correct routing, you should assign a separate interface to the VPN server. Have you done this?
After assigning an interface you get a new rule tab for the server where you have to set your needed firewall rules.

Is this happening on your phone when you are connected to your VPN from the outside? If so you could have the option to force traffic through the tunnel and are missing the allow rule on your OpenVPN interface. Can you post a screenshot of your interfaces tab and of your OpenVPN config?
