      Hello,

I am having issues setting up an open vpn server.  I believe the server is setup correct but the client export utility has no Dynamic DNS entries in  the Host Name Resolution drop down. I have had no luck getting any of the option in the drop down to work and i read an article that said there should be an entry for my Dynamic DNS that is setup and working.

I am running Pfsense 2.3.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64) and the most up to date export client utility.

Just select "other" and enter your DNS name below.

While sure that would work.. If he has a correctly setup ddns it should be listed by the fqdn of the ddns..

So for example I have one setup pfsense.domain.pw, see attached where this ddns is active and working.. And when I go to the export that fqdn is in the dropdown list..

Is it a "custom" dynamic DNS entry? If so, there is no way for those to be properly integrated at the moment.

If not, what type is it? And what settings do you have for the entry?

Your correct Jimp it is a custom dynamic DNS entry.  So my only option is to select other and enter the host name? Would the entry for the host name be my domain name "domain.com" so it resolves to the WAN port or "pfsense.domain.com"?

You would enter the fully qualified domain name (e.g. hostname.domain.com) - Whatever hostname is in DNS that points to the firewall on the address used by OpenVPN
