Smart way to create an alias for all pfSense interfaces
-
I have 6 interfaces on pfSense and 3 of them are outside interfaces with public ip connected to adsl routers.
I manually created an alias (AllPfSenseInterfaces) adding the ip of all the interfaces. Firewall rules use that alias. This configuration is error prone because in the future an outside ip may change and the alias AllPfSenseInterfaces doesn't update automatically. When filling a firewall rule a possible choice is Lan address, a readable alias for lan ip.
I would like to create AllPfSenseInterfaces with Lan address, Adsl_1 address instead of their IPs but I couldn't find a way to do it
In the alias page it seems that the autocomplete knows only previously defined aliases and not Lan address.
Is there something I can do improve the configuration ?Thanks

???
A filter rule with a pfSense interface as source on a certain interface makes no sense.
In the destination dropdown and in floating rules on both options pfSense already provides an alias for all its IPs, called "This Firewall (self)". -

I didn't notice destination drop down is slightly different: it has the item This Firewall (self) which is what I was looking for.
