    Hi all,

Im new to PFsense and have a test box on my home network which Im playing around with to get a feel for it.

    My network is like so:

Unifi Security Gateway : Router, DHCP, Firewall, VLAN's etc
PFSense: Firewall Off, DHCP Relay, DNS Forwarder

DHCP : Gateway and DNS set to PfSense

So, is there any way to get PFSense captive portal to work without enabling the DHCP server on PFSense itself. I would like to have the Captive Portal operate on a VLAN which the USG creates?

I'm a noob with a similar challenge–we use an Xserve as our DCHP/DNS server. All I had to do was enter the Xserve's IP address in the "Allowed IP Addresses" tab on the Captive Portal settings page.
