      Hi there,

my first post on this forum. Please be gentle ;)

I'm trying to get a captive portal up and running. It looks like there's a small problem with the redirect to the loginform.
The captive portal seems to work, but with an issue. When I connect to my guest VLAN the loginform is not shown. I have to type the IP-adres of the gateway from my main LAN to get the loginform.
I have to type 192.168.1.1 and that redirects my to the loginpage on 192.168.20.1 When logged in it redirects to where I came from, that be 192.168.1.1
So typing an url and getting the loginform is NOT the case. Though it should

      LAN: 192.168.1.0 range
      VLAN 192.168.20.0 range
      Pfsense 2.3.4_1 (latest stable)

The LAN goes online through a VPN client Interface
The Guest VLAN through the WAN interface

My guess is some DNS-type checkbox. Anyone with a thought on this?

Well, the question had the answer. It was a DNS-related issue. Adding the IP of the PFSense gateway to the list of DNS-servers solved the problem. Added the gateways IP to the list served by the DHCP-server for the specified Vlan.

Yep, I did read that one. It might even have triggered the solution. To me it is not clear it says one should define a local dns server. Could have to do with me, not being an english native speaker. Or my knowledge about DNS resolving is not what it should be. I posted my solution for the sake of the search function. I so a lot of topics on similar problems I had. But I could not find the solution.
