Rule ID column blank
-
Hello,
I'm referring to page /firewall_rules.php
It would be very useful to have the IDs for any kind of referencing, documentation etc.
I've tried "pfctl -vvsr" but found the output hard to read or match against the GUI view rules.
Is there a way of enabling numbering in that column?
My environment:
Version - 2.2.6-RELEASE (i386)
built on Mon Dec 21 14:50:36 CST 2015
FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p25Platform - nanobsd (1g)

You are on the latest version. It doesn't feel great indeed as it's a 2015 build.
What is limiting me - the platform, hardware or something else?
Any advise on that? -
Probably that it's a 1G NanoBSD image. That is too small for a current build. On 2.3.x, both 2G and 4G images are supported but NanoBSD and i386 are both unsupported on 2.4.
if that device requires NanoBSD and i386 (e.g. an ALIX system), the best thing to do now is to rewrite the 2.3.4 image to a new 4G CF card, then upgrade to 2.3.4-p1 once that is working, and use that for the time being.

the best thing to do now is to rewrite the 2.4.3 image to a new 4G CF card, then upgrade to 2.4.3-p1 once that is working, and use that for the time being.
2.4.3 image?ย Think you transposed some numbers ;)ย Did you mean 2.3.4 and then 2.3.4-p1 ;)

Yep, not sure how that one slipped out.ย ;D

Thank you for all the info.
The hardware is Geode LX: PC Engines ALIX.2 v0.99m tinyBIOS V1.4a (C)1997-2007 and looks like this:

It doesn't appear to support Gigabit Ethernet so clearly the time for an upgrade is coming.
Would you recommend something of a similar compact size from pfSense shop that will likely be supported for the next several years?
It would also be good for config migration to be fairly straightforward.
We would need 3 devices - 2 live and one extra as a spare.

If you only use two of those Ethernet interfaces and the ALIX is handling your load OK, then you might be able to use an SG-1000 for a bit of a speed/power/ram boost but still keep to something that uses little electrical power and has an even smaller footprint.
If you need more interfaces, then the cost goes up a bit from there. Drop a line to sales@netgate.com and list your requirements and someone can give you more specific, direct, guidance.
