I have recently had to rebuild hardware with PFsense (2.3.4), and am having issues recreating my OpenVPN setup. I have recreated the Cert Auth, the Server Cert and User Cert.; after all of this I cannot export the client install from exporter, there are no users to export… attached are screen captures. I have no idea what I am doing wrong, this worked so well the first time PFsense 2.x.x.! :-)

I searched and found numerous old (<2014) posts but none, seem to address the most recent versions of the exporter, and pfsense.

      Any help is greatly appreciated.

Post the OpenVPN server settings, please.

Have you select the correct vpn server instance on the client export page?

Are the user certificates actually listed on the users under System > User Manager?

If something doesn't show in the export it's because it isn't valid in some way, it could be a number of things, for example:

          • Different CA for the OpenVPN server and user certificates
          • User doesn't exist in the user manager
          • User certificate is not listed on the user in the user manager

Thanks Jimp! It was the last one on your list of things to check.

              • Different CA for the OpenVPN server and user certificates
              • User doesn't exist in the user manager
*** User certificate is not listed on the user in the user manager**
