I fairly recently starting having an issue with an ad banner coming up on the domain name is "api.content-ad.net".  On the other hand, the domain "content-ad.net" gets resolved to the pfsense server.

If I 'enable tld', will it block everything like *.content-ad.net?  It seems like the prefix api is being excluded on this one site…

    Thanks!

        Of course I did!  :)

I think it will scan that list (dnsbl_tld) for prefixes to exclude in the domain.  I didn't specifically see 'api' in there so I would think that my site (api.content-ad.net) would still not get blocked.  I came here to see if that was correct or if I was wrong in thinking this.

With this domain as an example:

          api.content-ad.net

With TLD enabled, it will not block all sub-domains unless content-ad.net is in the blocklist, since net is the TLD. So you could add that domain to a cuatomlist and Reload for it to take effect.
