Blocking adds.

Hi guys. Im new to pfSense. Ive setup a pfSense machine which i built up. I must say that pfSense works brilliant my connection has been up for 10 days now without a single drop out like it was with my BT Homehub router. Any how, Im wondering is it possible to block Ads via the Router end? I've seen people use something called squid but I'm wondering if thats correct to use? Any ideas
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Thank you.

Hi!
I'm also new to PFsense, I think pfBlockerNG can do this. Its in the Package Manager. I have installed this on our setup, but haven't enabled it yet.
HTH.

Pfbng with dnsbl is the best/easiest setup

Ive tried Squid but the Proxy Server isn't working for some reason.

Doesn't work neither.

Squid is a pita for ad blocking a home network. Just use pfbng with dnsbl.

Ive managed to get everything up and running now. Ive also blocked indecent websites on the Guest WIFI, Proxy Server & Caching is also up and running. On the blocking certain indecent websites it was a bit of a tricky one had to block some manually. This Router is doing a lot of things. Ive also switched to BT Business as I wanted a Static IP for my Remote access into my Server, CCTV & Setup boxes.
Cant believe pfSense is free ;D
