I was just wondering where some settings have gone?
      URL: /interfaces_ppps_edit.php?id=0

At the bottom there is description text left, but no heading and no options anymore:

Bandwidth is set only for MLPPP connections and when links have different bandwidths
      MTU defaults to 1492
MRU will be auto-negotiated by default
Set only for MLPPP connections. MRRU will be auto-negotiated by default.

AFAIR, we could manually enter MTUs bigger than 1500 Byte here in order to trigger RFC 4638 support here?!

The settings are there, just above that text, when you have selected an interface capable of setting them.

Are you using a VLAN or some other kind of interface there?

I was able to reproduce it here but only in that case, see https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/8098
