I need to be able to store my password file, but it appears that /etc, /conf are both readonly, and /var is a ramdisk.  On my full install I put the file in /etc, but that doesn't work.

Where/how can I save my file so that it lasts throughout a reboot?  Or is there a way to execute a script to recreate it on boot?  I looked but didn't see this capability.

      thanks
      david
