Bypass VPN for specific websites (hulu, watch disney, ect.)
-
I just set up pfsense, and I got my Private Internet Access VPN up and running for two specific machines in my house, but I want some websites that I visit on those machines to be unblocked.
I'm in the US so I don't need to bypass for geo-restrictions, but Hulu and the watch Disney all block me from watching streams because I'm behind the VPN. I've created an alias for the sites I want to bypass and a firewall rule that bypasses the VPN, but that alias isn't working for Hulu or watch Disney, I tested the functionality of the bypass rule by visiting a page that displays my current IP address before and after I applied the rules and it worked for that site, but Hulu still says I'm outside of the US. In my alias, I use www.hulu.com in the FQDN field, I'm not sure why this doesn't work.
Thanks for any ideas!

You have added www.hulu.com to your alias, so only this name will be resolved once in pfSense and the associated IP will be add to the filter rule.
However, if you connect to Hulu website resources will be load from several different IPs. If you can't find out which these are by another way, use your browsers debugging function to see from which hostnames parts are loaded. -

I'm in the same situation. I signed up for SneakFlix and I need to bypass some sites in pfsense. Is there a step-by-step tutorial for newbies somewhere? (Already tried Google…).
