Wireless Bridge

I currently have my pfsense router Bridged to a linksys router running DD-WRT and the bridge works fine, except it shuts down when their is no activity. I have to start ping a host or trying to access the internet and then a few seconds later it comes back up, this is annoying if im trying to access any devices on the other side of my wireless bridge. Has anyone else had this problem ?
