      Hi folks

okay, this is wireless and it's about hardware so I hope I'm in the right corner of the forum.

I have a Soekris 4801 with this WLAN card:

      ral0: <ralink technology="" rt2500="">mem 0xa0004000-0xa0005fff irq 11 at device 14.0 on pci0
      ral0: MAC/BBP RT2560 (rev 0x04), RF RT2525

The combination was working very fine under openbsd, but as I just use it for home use I switched to pfsense for a little bit lazy upgrade cenarios :)

Anyhow, since then, the connection was to the AP got lost twice while I was doing an "apt-get update; apt-get upgrade" on a connected Linux box.

The config of the pfsense is not exotic, the WLAN is configured to allow intra-BSS traffic, it uses WPA… nothing fancy. When the connection dies, my "iwconfig" on the linux box shows a singal stength of "0", when I un-/replug the power on the soekris the wlan comes up again... the hardware was working fine before - so it is a pfsense (freebsd) issue from my standpoint.

Has anybody a Ralink RT2500 in use any similar expirience - and possibly solutions found?

      thanks and regards
      Philipp</ralink>
