Help! Can't find old personal /private messages after forum upgrade

Greetings folks,
My apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum. I cannot seem to find any of my old PMs after the recent upgrade. I hope it is just me not being able to figure out the new interface.
Could I request help understanding how to get access to my old PMs?

They are gone and cannot be recovered.

Private messages were not converted to the new forum. NodeBB does not implement private messages in the same manner as SMF. In NodeBB, these are considered ‘chats’ and are much closer to text, instant, or direct messages than SMF which treated them like email messages instead.
As the contents of private messages are considered private, we do not have a procedure to retrieve these.

Yep, PMs are gone
new interface is awful
I suppose there was a good reason for going to this new platform, but it escapes me.

@jahonix @JeGr A good time for constructive criticism would have been while they had the old and new platforms up in parallel... but no, some BOZO in the head office decided this was best for us and crammed it down our throats. Its the new corporate mentality. If its cheaper and easier for me, its better for you.
The platform (from the blog) has the new "modern and responsive look" of being written by a 14yo girl FOR a 14yo girl... its so "pretty" with all it's colored bubbles and group gatherings... fitting for social media media garbage, not so wise for a professional entity's interface with it's customers.I had a lot of really good information in my PMs from the devs and from package writers... gone! with no warning.
On dead a serious note, as someone with a injury based visual disability the default and optional skins are extremely difficult to deal with. Extremely harsh on someone with photophobia.
As an owner of a Netgate appliance, a gold member, a tester... extremely disappointed with the decision and its delivery. Kinda saw these issues coming though after talking with CB a few months back.

And where did you ever get the impression that data on some public forum is safe, secure? How much are you paying for this forum access that you believe that netgate/pfsense and you formed some sort of contract that your PM would be there day to day?

I also have multiple appliances, gold member and tester - and very active on the forums for 10 some years. I can tell you for sure I never had impression that my PMs were going to be there tmrw.
I don't pay google for gmail either - so i have no impression that gmail is going to be there tmrw either.
I can understand your visual problems. Then I would suggest you nicely bring up that the current themes are not very user friendly for people with visual problems - I am quite sure you will get not only support from the netgate/pfsense side in working on a theme that is easier to read, but also suggestions from other users with the same sort of issues and what they use on their end to help. There many tools to rework a websites visual themes for different reasons regardless of what the site owners layout is.
Calling staff Bozo's is not going to get you any help that is for sure.
