PowerD and Hyper-V
-
I'm running the latest 2.2 build in Hyper-V 2012 R2 and it works amazing. My questions is does having PowerD enabled or disabled make any difference in Hyper-V? I've tried it both ways and don't notice any differences in either performance or power consumption. This would make me believe it doesn't really do anything in a virtualized environment and the virtualizer will be the one deciding how best to manage power.
Just thought I would throw this out there.
Thank you

For anyone interested. I've now been running in Hyper-V with PowerD disabled for a while now. The overall power consumption of the server doesn't seem to be impacted at all and my pings are a little faster now (eg 10 vs 13 on average). Not sure if the lower ping times are due to the final build of 2.2 or due to the powerd settings.
