Aggregating OpenVPN connections for higher speeds
-
Hi All,
I am fairly new to pfsense and I am hoping someone might be able to give me some guidance on increasing throughput by aggregating multiple OpenVPN connections?I have a fairly quick internet connection with speeds of around 350Mbps down and a paultry 20Mbps up.
I am also using OpenVPN to connect to a dedicated NordVPN server.
Any traffic that is routed through the VPN seems to flow at around 130Mbps down and the full 20Mbps up.
Now this is all theoretical but Would it be possible to create further OpenVPN instance/s to other NordVPN server/s and bond them together to increase my throughput?
I am aware that I will never get to full 350Mbps since there are some overheads when running over a tunnel, but surely I can get close?
Thanks. -
Nothing you will ever do will get you faster single downloads.
If you have lots of distributed traffic and lots of connections from different hosts to different hosts, creating a simple load balance group to two VPN providers might help.
