TAP on OpenVPN routes all traffic through the IPv4 gateway. Great, but it seems a little confused. I kept the office gateway at 192.168.1.1 to keep things simple in the SO environment, so when I try to access it from a network who's gateway is ALSO the same, it takes me to that instead. This isn't working out with mapped network drives while connected to OpenVPN either... it forgets where they are.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks in advance

Did you look under the sofa? 😉

If you're using the same subnet for home and office, there's no way for it to work, as any traffic for that drive will not be routed to the office

I just realized you said TAP, not TUN VPN. Can you ping the server the mapped drive is on? Having the same address for the gateways is not a good idea.

@jknott yes, I can ping, but nothing else.

Well, fire up Wireshark (or Packet Capture if you must) to see what's happening. Once we know what's happening to the packets, we're in a better position to advise.
