HA Proxy -Dev tracking a stable release?
-
Looking at the available packages in pfSense it appears that the haproxy package tracks version 1.7, while -dev tracks 1.8; the haproxy website indicates that 1.8 is a stable branch with 1.9 now marked as development. Are there plans to roll the pfSense packages forward to match?

My current plan is to stick to 1.7 and 1.8 a little longer, imho 1.9 doesn't offer much 'usable' features in a stable enough manor to be packaged on pfSense. Yet.That idea might change though.. Renato is helping me to get at least 1.8.14 pulled in for pfSense haproxy-devel package. Though thats not a complete success sofar.

Thank you!

Will 1.8 be supporting CHACHA20?
-
@gerby123
Well.. it will still be compiled against the FreeBSD base's OpenSSL 1.0.2 installation.. so probably not yet, if i read it right CHACHA20 needs at least openssl 1.1.0 right? -
Correct, guess we'll have to wait for the FreeBSD 12 base
