Question about included Feeds
-
Hi BBcan177,
This really is no big deal and probably a loaded question but I was wondering how it is decided which feeds are included in pfBlockerNG, is there certain criteria that needs to be met for them to be included or is it just a work in progress getting more feeds included?
I only ask because I have some feeds in use from before the devel version that are not included such as FireHOL (which appears to be popular) and then there are included feeds such as Malekal_Hosts that haven't been updated since May 2014.
If there is no certain criteria (or even if there is), would it be helpful to you for us (pfBlockerNG users) to submit feed URL's to you for consideration?

I always add Feeds from the Original Feed Maintainers Site, and not use any Middle-Man Feed. Almost all of the Feeds in Firehol are already included in the Feeds Tab.
The Feeds tab is always a work in progress... So I am always open to consider changes to the Feeds. Drop a comment here/reddit/twitter/email....

Thanks again for the speedy reply and info.
I could not even imagine all of the effort put into choosing certain feeds to be included. I know there are alot out there and its hard to know which feeds overlap with another and so forth.
I know when I first started using pfBlockerNG I found it to be a very daunting task trying to find feeds. It wasn't really that they were hard to find (well some were) but more of just not knowing which feeds or how many would be good to use. In the end I just choose to use the feeds that seemed popular among other users.
One last thing, what do think about possibly adding a feeds section for chatty electronics such as smart TV's, etc.. ?
If you do have some interest in this, here is a good feed for raining in Samsung smart TV's: https://v.firebog.net/hosts/static/SamsungSmart.txt
My Samsung smart TV is by far the chattiest device on my network. It's almost disgusting how chatty it is (haha was!). Using the feed above works well and I only had to whitelist 2 of the feed domains to keep all TV functions working properly.
Thank you for all of your hard work, pfBlockerNG is just absolutely brilliant!
