      before thank you
The IP address of the internet service provider to the modem is static. in this way does not go online. However, there is no problem when I connect to another modem that does not have a static ip.

Have you entered the internal modem IP (192.168.1.1) in the "IPv4 Upstream gateway" box in the WAN interface settings?

Check if pfSense able to reach the update server on the dashboard.

If it isn't, you will see an error massage here.

If pfSense can reach the internet post your LAN firewall rules and the outbound NAT settings.

So if your pointing to some rfc1918 address why are you doing anything with static on pfsense? Just set its wan to dhcp and let your "modem" hand it an IP.. Since your clearly doing a double nat.

BTW if its natting its ain't a "modem"... Modems do not route nor do they nat.. What is the make and model number of this isp device - most likely a gateway.

Dude if your wanting to set this IP on pfsense - it has ZERO to do with 192.168.anything..

And /32 does not give you anywhere enough info to make it work... What is the gateway IP address to set when using this static? And more likely then not your device from your ISP will have to be put in bridge mode.

If your pfSense is behind a (router-)modem with NAT, the internet access has nothing to do with static or dynamic public IP. The Public IP is managed by the router and pfSense uses the router as gateway.

^ exactly... What is the make and model of the device you got from your ISP... And what are the exact details your ISP gave you for setting up static... It sure and the hell is not some IP/mask - you need a GATEWAY IP to make that work!!!

@viragomann The static IP doesn't have the same settings. The problem arises when the static IP gets static IP.

That is NOT a modem its a freaking gateway that is a NAT router... What IP it has on its wan has ZERO to do with pfsense..

If you want it to be a MODEM then here
                                    https://www.tp-link.com/uk/faq-1332.html

Then if you want to set a static public IP on pfsense your going to need more than IP/mask - you have to KNOW what its gateway is!!!

I set the modem to bridge mode. I made a ppoe connection at pfsens. wan ip was 78.186.95.153. ISP dns information has arrived. However, I can not ping the rope from the wan interface, although I can not ping.

Ok so if you have your PPPoE connection working pfsense.. And you want to ping this IP from the internet you would have to allow that on your firewall rules.

If you want to get to something behind pfsense then you would need to setup a port forward..

What exactly do you teach in computers - clearly its not networking ;)
