How to fix ntop graphics

Due to issues described elsewhere with ntopng I tried installing ntop again. It actually broke somehow, messing my syslog up with directories not being created etc so I reinstalled it and then it started as before.

Unfortunately, it still, as before, has garbled texts in the graphics (other people here have mentioned it as well but I have seen no answers).

How to fix, what to look for?

delete the ntop files using FTP filezilla then install again the ntop
