freeNAS with Plex plugin remote access not working
-
please read it again, "In front of Pfsense"
-
Sorry but I don't understand your question.
I have this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352603063182?ul_noapp=true -
@DKentoy Where do you get your internet from who is your ISP. They gave you a box yes a modem/router? did you open all ports on that so pfsense can control your ports>?
-
My ISP haven't giving me a box. I could get one, but I refused.
The link I mentioned before is my router. It is running pfSense.
From the wall I have a RJ45 plug and that is patch to 1 of the RJ45 plug in my hardware. From another RJ45 plug in my hardware I have patch to a switch.
So pfSense is my router.
-
@DKentoy No idea than I don't know any ISP's who does not provide you with a modem or router, Who is your ISP?
-
Dansk KabelTV. It is a Danish ISP, but that is not the issue.
Please see my link before. -

Dansk KabelTV
Yes you bought a PC which can run Pfsense I get that, Plex can be funny sometimes try ticking the port in the opens and try it that way "Manually specify public port "
-
Wouldn't you be better setting up your router as a VPN server rather than opening up ports ?
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/nat/port-forward-troubleshooting.html
-
My pfSense has also been setting up with OpenVPN on pia.
But I disabled my VPN, my plex is running as it should.
So it seems that my VPN is giving me trouble. -
Should it not be possible to have OpenVPN active with Plex?
-
Yeah its very possible.. But plex reports what IP to the plex servers as its public? You can not port forward in via your vpn service IP can you..
Hit your actual wan IP directly, or use custom fqdn for your plex that resolves to your wan public..
Or make sure your policy routing what you want out your vpn, and not the plex.
