      Hello

I've set up pfSense 2.2 with squidguard and squid3.
Set up a blacklist from urlblacklist.com and selected the categories from Common ACL.

But so far I have not been able to block any pages at all.

      Am I missing something important?

How? transparent proxy, non transparent proxy, wpad?

But so far I have not been able to block any pages at all.

        both http or https?

Seems like I've indeed have missed something.

It's supposed to be transparent, but I'm not sure I've done it right.
          I followed this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAGeFt43Yb0

I haven't tried https yet, but I know that squidguard have some issues with blocking on https but it won't work on http either right now.

I'd be very grateful if you could guide me through this since I'm pretty much a newbie on pfsense and only used it for a week.

            https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Setup_Squid_as_a_Transparent_Proxy.
            Then
            https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/SquidGuard_package

I would highly recommend that you stay away from transparent proxy.  It's a nightmare when dealing with HTTPS sites, and those are becoming the default more and more.  Use WPAD to allow your clients to auto-discover the proxy and then HTTPS will work without mucking around with certificates on every client.

I much prefer using a wpad, dealing with https in transparent mode has many issues.

                Good luck
