      I am using squid as a proxy server in Pfsense 2.4.4 and I want to configure the proxy address as a name and not as an IP address, but I can't find where to configure it, does anyone know how to do it? Thanks for your time.

        System - General Setup - Hostname, Domain

        What is serving DNS on your network?

          Thanks for answer so soon! Place the Hostname where the proxy IP address goes but it is not connected. And apart in the network I have a DNS server.

            You need to edit your DNS so that it resolves your pfsense FQDN to its LAN IP address.

              That's a good idea, but you don't know if there is a way that allows me to take a trip to Pfsense or Squid?

                  @KOM said in Squid addresses:

                  Sorry, what? Take a trip?

                  Sorry, I want to know if exist a way to configure that in pfsense directly.

                    Not unless pfSense is handling your DNS. You said some other server is doing your DNS. DNS is what resolves hostnames to IP addresses.

                      you need to configure your dns server, if you have bind or something else on another machine you have to do it there

                        Ok, thanks. My idea is put in proxy configuration in the pc a name instead of ip address. I'll talk to DNS administrator in order to do the configuration.

                          under windows you can also modify C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and add it there
