Log Sessions Instead of Packets

I was just wondering if it is possible to get syslog to log sessions. I don't want to see packets, I just want to see bytes sent/rcvd per session. Don't know if this is possible or if anyone knows of a 3rd party app other than syslog-ng that can do this. Thank you!

What you want isn't a log, it's called Netflow. There is the softflowd package which can help here, but there are other ways to reach that goal.
