Flagged as spam for existing

I'm also going to reply to myself some.
-
Yes i agree, Antispam is too moderate specially when you put in messages some technical details and code...
-
Yeah, very frustrating.
I tried a new thread rather than replying to one and I'm still flagged. -
I was trying to reply to thread 94840, but the forum won't let me.
So,
I've got a netgear aircard 815s I'm trying to get to work with 2.4.4. If I do a "usbconfig -d ugen0.2 set_config 1" it works. I have created a loader.conf.loader file to try and make this happen at boot, but I can't seem to get it to work. -
Here is my usbconfig -d ugen0.2 dump_device_desc output.
ugen0.2: <NETGEAR, Inc. AirCard 815S> at usbus0, cfg=1 md=HOST spd=HIGH (480Mbps) pwr=ON (500mA)

@cptdevine did you read this before: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/executing-commands-at-boot-time.html ?
-
Yes, and my post details what I've tried. I'm trying to get the usbqurik part to work that is mentioned in the last post.
I can't post enough detail without it getting flagged as spam.If I didn't have customer's using this, I would walk away right now and never look back.
-
@cptdevine the main question is it work now and you try to automate reboot issue or it not work at all? I unfortunately doesn't have such experience with usb modem devices, somebody else could help.
-
It works now, but I have to issue a "usbconfig -d ugen0.2 set_config 1" if I reboot.
-
I've got this in my loader.conf.local
hw.usbquirk.0="0x0846 0x68e1 0 0xffff UQ_CFG_INDEX_1"

Before you guys blame the choice of forum software please understand that the time it takes to block the idiot spammers has been finally reduced to something much more tolerable. Blame them as they caused it.
Ive spread a few thumbs up here so you should be a little more able to post now.
-
@chpalmer i always report spam messages when see them. Point in that may anispam can be tuned to requirements of forum specific?
-
@cptdevine so did you installed package "shellcmd" and tried add:
usbconfig -d ugen0.2 set_config 1
command in it?
-
Guys, thanks for helping me prove I'm not a Russian chat bot.
I did get this to work by adding that usbconfig command as an early command. in the XML file. I'd like to understand why my usbquirk didn't work, but I'll save that for later.
Now I have it working, I have an issue getting openvpn to start. I suspect it really does not like USB ethernet.
Instead of continuing this thread in the wrong place, I'm going to start a new one, a thread about being flagged as spam is no place for openvpn support.
Thanks again everyone for the upvotes and help.
