I have pfsense on a Protectli Vault and run a wifi AP router on the LAN port. I configured the AP wifi router as a VLAN bridge in the router settings. I also want to connect 3 computers via wired connections to that setup. When I plug a cable into the AP wifi router, I get the message "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet" in the Mac network settings of that Computer.

From what I read I need a switch that I plug in to the LAN port of the Protecli Vault. Is that right? And then plug the computers and the AP wifi router into the ports of the switch?

If that is correct, do I need a managed or unmanaged switch?

That sounds like a question better directed toward Protectli or your wireless gear vendor.

Don't see a lot to do with pfSense there.
