Update OpenVPN Client config from Server
-
My external DNS name referenced in my OpenVPN client config for connecting is changing e.g. old.server.com:1194 to new.server.com:1194
Is there a way I can push out the new connection details next time the client connects without exporting my client configs again?
-
Go to the client export tool and put the new name in the "Host Name" box, go down and press "Save as default".
-
Either the client edits it's config file or do as @viragomann writes, re-export and hand it over to the client.

Thanks, have already done the update in the Client Export tool so any new clients added will get the updated conf but was hoping there was a way to remotely update the existing remote users client config without re-exporting. I just need to update the line in the client config file "remote old.server.com 1194 udp" to "remote new.server.com 1194 udp"

Yeah, read the second line too fast. Of course, you have to update the clients config, either manually or import a new config file.

I can push routes and other config parameters via the server, frustrating that this isn't one of them;/ My remote user base is about 40, if I had 100's I'd be very unpopular.
