I have 2 VPN tunnels connected to Google Cloud and they both use FRR BGP. Every week or so something happens and the FRR BGP package stops working and I have to restart it. Does any one else have this issue or know of a fix action? I did max out the keep alive and hold timers to try to keep this from happening.

      Thanks in advance

There is not enough information to speculate about a cause here.

What kind of VPN tunnel? Does the BGP status/route display change when its working vs not working, and if so, how? What, if any, other events happen around the time it fails (e.g. VPN disconnect/reconnect, interface/gateway events, etc).

          Thank you for responding.

They're IPSEC tunnels. The BGP routes are no longer listed in the route table when this happens. No other events have been noted during this time frame except that when you look on the Google Cloud side the BGP session is "Down". After restarting BGP everything works right away.

If you have any more questions please ask. I will respond with whatever information is needed.

The routing table under Diagnostics > Routes or the Zebra Routes & BGP Routes lists under Status > FRR?

The Status > FRR screen would have much more useful information.

If the routes become inactive then there are some patches around which might help.

I have looked under both however I was referring to the routes in Diagnostics > Routes location. Unfortunately I don't remember what it said under Status > FRR.

I will look for the inactive statement and then look for the patches if that becomes the case. Would this be the 9668 issue/patch?

Yes, it sounds like the problem others had where the patches on 9668 helped.
