How do i get pfsense to "talk to the WAN" to allow remote access into my LAN
-
I'm setting up a vpn server with openvpn on pfsense. I can access this vpn server using my wifi but not any network outside of it. I did enable the wizard firewall rules on set-up but it's still not "talking/connecting to the WAN side of pfsense"

usually the rule for 1194 udp is open by the wizard but it could be not enough, you have to give us more information about your wan, do you have a public ip on your pfsense? or do you have another router before it?
also with the help of packet capture you can see if traffic is hitting your wan interface -
@kiokoman Okay I am running a openvpn client to my VPN service so i am currently using a network vpn. I have LAN and WAN IPs in pfsense and i do know my origninal static public IP before the OVPN Client service

@abadabee and yeah my setup is DSL port in wall -> VDSL router(DMZ) -> pfsense device -> Wirless AP

You need to forward the OpenVPN port from your VDSL router to the pfSense WAN IP.

like this ?
ID Service Type External Port Internal IP Internal Port Protocol Status Modify
1 ? 1194 192.168.1.100 1194 UDP/\ WAN IP

No idea what you are showing there...just a port forward like it is mentioned in your VDSL Router user manual. ;-)
