Migrating OpenVPN Users from IPCop to Pfsense
-
Hi Guys,
I have an Issue about the renewal of a customers firewall. The customer has about 140 roadwarrior configs on its IpCop 2.1.7.
We don't want to renew all of these configs over so many remote sessions in all of these Home-Offices.
Do you think it is possible to configure a new OpenVPN Server on a PfSense 2.4.4 and migrating the Clients from the Cop? Or is it possible to migrate the whole OpenVPN-Server ?
I threw a look in the filesystems of both and i didn't know where to start.
You have to know, this is also my final exam project for my apprenticeship.
So it would be okay, if this isn't possible, because it is an Result though, but i need a reason for my documentation.Greetings

I don't know anything about IPcop, but if you are able to export the CA and Certificates there it should be fine.
Import those to your pfSense and build the OpenVPN server with the settings 1:1 matching the IPcop setup.
I would build the pfSense server in parallel to IPcop, test with some users, then migrate anything and switch the WAN to the Live IP (current IPcop WAN).-Rico
