Is OpenVPN tunnel symmetric or asymmetric?

Hi guys
Does anyone knows if a OpenVPN tunnel is symmetric or asymmetric in the last version of pfSense or in any version. People said: If you have for example a WAN connection 10/5 Mb/s (Download/Upload) and your tunnel is symmetric, the max. speed of the vpn tunnel is going to be 5 Mb/s because always takes the minimum. But if you have a asymmetric tunnel is going to be 10 Mb/s. I don't know if this is for TCP or UDP VPN connection.

Dunno what people are you talking about; your tunnel is as symmetric or assymetric as your WAN.

This notion may be coming from people accessing the VPN from a similarly asymmetric ISP as the OpenVPN service is hosted on.
For instance OpenVPN hosted on say a 30/5 (down/up) ISP service and accessed with a client also on a 30/5 service will look like 5/5, because the down bandwidth of each is going to be limited to the up bandwidth of the other.
This is one of those situations where hosting services on symmetrical ISP service can be more desirable.

The think is if you have a OpenVPN tunnel site-to-site. In SITE-A your bandwidth is 10/5 Mb/s (down/up) and on SITE-B your bandwidth is 50/50 Mb/s (down/up). When some client form the SITE-A is downloading something from SITE-B the max theoretical speed connection is going to be 5 Mb/s, even when you have yours 10 Mb/s (down) and SITE-B has 50 MB/s more than SITE-A .
But if i both scenarios SITE-A and SITE-B have the same speeds for example 50/50 (down/up), then your are going to have 50/50.

Nothing to do with OpenVPN. A site can only send at its max upload speed no matter what you're using.
